2009 Toyota RAV4 2WD First Impressions
by Mike Goetz / Auto123.com
Since we’ve also had a recent chance to drive the new 2010 Camry, which features this new “four” hooked up to a new 6-speed tranny, the shortcomings of the Rav4’s 4-speed are more apparent. We obviously understand the differences between a midsize sedan and a crossover, but the Camry’s relaxed highway gait is quite more relaxed than that of the Rav4’s.

Otherwise the Rav4 remains the same competent, easy-going compact crossover we’ve come to know and like.

Concluding remarks
Otherwise the Rav4 remains the same competent, easy-going compact crossover we’ve come to know and like. It might need a bit more personality, and a bit more steering feel, to make us love it, but it continues to offer precious few faults.

And now that there is less expensive way to get into one, its popularity will only continue to grow.
